Vegan creative sushi class
Excellent birthday present

I attended the vegan sushi making class with my boyfriend for his birthday. We enjoyed how cosy and casual it was and learned a lot from Izzy and Misoko, who were very accommodating and friendly. We had a wonderful time together rolling our own sushi and sipping Japanese beer and sake :) I would recommend it to anyone who is after a fun time alone or with company and wants to learn new skills while having fun.

Black Cod and Japanese Home Cooking
A lovely class with a lovely teacher

My partner and I attended Akemi’s black cod home cooking class. She was so lovely and welcoming and obviously very knowledgeable about Japanese cooking. We learnt a lot and enjoyed eating the food at the end of class with a glass of beautiful Japanese wine. Would thoroughly recommend.

Japanese Gyoza Master Class
Great first Gyoza class with Yuka!

This was the first gyoza class that Yuka had delivered to the public at Sozai and so a very exciting night! Yuka's knowledge and self-assurance in her skills made for a very informative and enjoyable evening. Yuka is generous and kind and easy to get along with - highly recommend! Not to mention the absolute FEAST we enjoyed at the end after all our hard work...

Japanese Gyoza Master Class
Incredible!

Yuka was very warm and explained every step of the process, even letting us in on the secret to the perfect fried rice as well as amazing authentic Japanese Gyoza!
We got to experiment with different skins, betwen self-made and shop-bought and assembled the filling ourselves, getting a feel for every step of hte process. We received as well a very detailed recipe with all the steps and measurements as well a daggy bag with the leftover fillings for home-experimenting!

Very good value for money, and am definitely considering doing the other classes as well.

Thank you Sozai!

Ramen Class
A great intro to ramen

I was unsure we could create a tasty and authentic ramen within the 2-hour class. I'm glad to say I was totally wrong.

Akemi, our teacher, was great and there was a good mix of history, instruction and practical elements within the lesson.

Noodle making was fun and surprisingly easy, and the tips about where to buy ingredients were really useful for trying to replicate at home. Which we will definitely be doing at some point.

Tasting the finished dish, it was hard to imagine how something that simple could be so delicious.

Thanks Akemi!

Dinner Party Sushi 1
Simply a stunning experience

My girlfriend and myself attended the sushi making class las week. Having never made sushi before this class was the perfect introduction.

We learned to make four different kinds of sushi and each time were given precise, easy to follow, instructions. The food we created was absolutely delicious and looked incredible.

I would definitely recommend this class for anyone wanting a fun introduction into the world of sushi.

Sushi Master Class
Sushi masterclass

We had a great time at the class, instructions were always enthusiastic, precise and help was at hand if we lost our way.

My only slight negative was the value for money, although it was a long class only 1 of the 3 rolls we made used actual fish and I'm sure most would have appreciated a glass of wine/sake when it came to the eating!

That aside, a thoroughly enjoyable experience and i would consider another class as well as recommending this one. Maybe see you soon!

Ramen Class
Great class for beginners to attend!

I really enjoyed the class, everything was well prepared and organised she had an assistant which helped things go smoothly. The class room was spacious and seems to be a eatery during the day.

Watching Akemi teach, she put lots of careful attention into each action she taught. I immediately made a dinner for the family on the following weekend. It was really nice to have met her and she shared some of her recent stories and a few insider tips at the Ramen class from when she visited the head chefs of other Ramen chains. The best part of course was to eat what you cooked for dinner!
