Japanese Udon Master Class

Have you ever made home made pasta and heard about Japanese traditional Udon Noodle?

Udon noodles are thick wheat flour noodles which are usually served in a broth with various toppings and accompaniments. Udon noodles are one of the three most common noodles in Japan. The noodles have simple ingredients which you probably have in your kitchen right now ! Udon can be enjoyed as a simple noodle meal or used in elegant dishes. Once you have tasted Udon, you’ll want to try the noodles with variety of foods. At this class, you’ll learn how to make Udon dough from scratch and hand cut the dough using knives ( no machine ). You will also learn how to make Udon broth made from natural dashi. You’ll also learn how to make Inari Sushi ( Rice wrapped in fried Bean curd )


Yuka Caves

Yuka’s passion for Japanese cuisine began at a very young age, taught by her grandmother and mother in rural Kyushu. Her childhood was filled with daily trips to fish, meat and vegetable markets where her grandmother taught her how to source the freshest of ingredients. Yuka trained in the art of traditional Kaiseki cuisine at Tokyo’s highly regarded Kaiseki cooking school, Kinsa-Ryu.

Yuka’s extensive knowledge and expertise in Japanese home cooking and formal training enables her to teach with an approachable and friendly technique. Her concept focuses on using four main seasonal ingredients to create simple and delicious menus which are beautifully presented. Yuka is a big advocate for using local ingredients which are easily accessible and reasonable. With her creative flair and natural enthusiasm, Yuka’s classes are fun, practical and hands-on, whatever your ability.

Sushi Master Class

I attended Yuka's sushi master class and I loved every minute of it! I have been meaning to learn how to make sushi for a while, and I am glad I picked this class with Sozai. The session was authentic and the trainer was friendly, easy-going and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Sozia if you want to learn to make Japanese food.

Great experience

We had a great time at the sushi masterclass, Yuka the instructor was very welcoming, attentive and funny.
Great for beginners, as we learnt every aspect of making sushi and now feel confident to do so ourselves.
Highly recommend!
