Online Homemade Udon & Kakiage Tempura Class

Join our new handmade udon making experience! Learn how to knead, pull, and cut your own udon noodles in the comfort of your own kitchen.

In this 2 hour workshop, you’ll start from rolling the dough, making Kakiage Tempura whilst resting the dough, then cut it into strips and cooking the noodles to create a perfect delicious Kakiage Udon Noodle.

○  Tsuyu Hot Noodle Soup
○ Kaeshi Cold Noodle Sauce

Ingredients:
Tempura Flour or Plain Flour
Salt
Soy Sauce
Mirin
Kelp Kombu
Bonito KatsuoBushi (*omit for Vegetarians & Vegans)
Dried Shiitake Mushroom
Root Vegetables

INSTRUCTOR

Kinu Yukawa

Kinu Yukawa is a Japanese chef and cookery teacher from Kobe, Japan. She ventured into the world of food early in life and fostered the basics of cooking from her grandmother. Later she trained French cuisine at Ecole Ritz Escoffier Paris and traditional Japanese cuisine in Kyoto.

Kinu believes in the simplicity of the Japanese philosophy of enjoying food with all the body's five senses <五感楽しむ和食>. She appreciates the importance of cooking with vegetables that are in season and at the height of their flavour. By respecting the seasons and their offerings, food nourishes and brings harmony to the body, which is the principle of "和食 Washoku" <the harmony of food> .

Kinu's teaching style focuses on cooking techniques and skills, ensuring that each students master the skills. Kinu is fascinated by sharing her expertise and knowledge of Japanese cooking with students of all walks of life and culinary levels.

Udon & Kakiage Tempura Class

It was a very good class. I love udon and was delighted to be able to learn how to make it at home. Kinu was very knowledgeable, and very helpful in answering all the questions that we had. It was an incredibly satisfying to sit down for dinner with the food freshly made in class. I really enjoyed the course and I strongly recommend it if you want to learn to cook Japanese food.

Best online cookery course

I really enjoyed this class. There were few participants, which is unusual in an online course, and it was great, since the teacher could follow us properly and answer our questions while still working on the demonstration. Kinu's instructions were clear and she made it look very easy. in fact i managed to do some quite passable mochi and I am delighted with the class. I will definitely take more classes.

Homemade gyoza

This was a really enjoyable class, gyoza had seemed very tricky and fiddly, and as this was my first attempt I didn't think I'd get such good results, but Kinu's instructions and advice as always made it a very easy process. Would definitely recommend the online classes, have been able to try a lot and learn so much with them.

Great gyoza class

A fantastic class learning to make gyoza where I learned a lot of new techniques. I was really impressed how my first ever gyoza turned out and will definitely make them again, so yummy! I'd highly recommend these online classes and look forward to booking another class in future. Thanks Kinu!
